Band Builder

A big part of getting into music is deciding what instrument you want to play. Most people naturally gravitate towards one instrument or another. Something about the sound it makes or
the look of it will draw you in. All instruments function around the same framework of musical theory but the difference is in the way you sound the notes. On a wind instrument
you adjust the amount of air pushed through various sized holes to change the tone while on a stringed instrument you put pressure on the string to change the tightness of it.
These differences are what cause an instrument to have it's specific identity. Think about some of your favorite musicians or bands and the different instruments they use.

Below I've created a template with a rough price for what you could expect to pay when purchasing various instruments. Using this, try and put together some various band formations to get an idea
of what all their instruments might have cost together! Naturally a three piece band with drums, guitar and bass is going to be a lot less costly than a jazz ensemble. You can pay lavish amounts of money
for instruments but if you were to put a band together with your friends this would be a good schematic for deciding your startup cost. As a side note, I avoided listing instruments for the bare minumum price
you could find them because I think it's important to purchase a good instrument from the start. An instrument is something that can last a life time and a well cared for instrument can be
sold again for a portion of what you paid for it. Having a nice instrument that you care about will inspire you to play more and thus get better at the craft.
